Nestled in Radisson Heights – Albert Park was designed by Studio North to showcase how an old residence can easily accommodate three compact homes even while holding a relaxing and practical greenhouse!
A 70 foot long reflecting pool shapes the outdoor living zone with a budding kitchen garden and green nooks creating a lively landscape. Passive design sustainable design practices and photovoltaic panels that power the home’s energy needs complete this 2750 square foot complete this exquisite residence that is both serene and planet-friendly.
The stone wall offers much more than support to the cantilevered structure as it divides the home into social and private spaces even as concrete pillars offer further support. With an elevated design the house gives those inside a smart view of the river from almost every level inside.
Sitting on small clearing and surrounded by trees on all sides the gorgeous getaway is almost invisible from a distance. Overall form the Hidden Pavilion is dictated largely by the natural elements that surround it as the terraces and upper level inclination were specifically crafted keeping in mind future growth of oak trees around the retreat.
A gabled roof form was chosen to ensure that the street façade of the house blends in with the more classic neighboring structures. With an elevated living area privacy is never an issue here despite the flowing indoor-outdoor interplay that effortlessly connects the courtyard and the rear garden with the living room.
