Finding refuge in nature is increasingly becoming the most preferred way forward when it comes to design of suburban homes. Nestled on a secluded lot in Brazil and overlooking river Arroio Pelotas this cantilevered contemporary home gleefully embraces the landscape around it.
A gabled roof form was chosen to ensure that the street façade of the house blends in with the more classic neighboring structures. With an elevated living area privacy is never an issue here despite the flowing indoor-outdoor interplay that effortlessly connects the courtyard and the rear garden with the living room.
Step into the living area and one instantly notices that the focus is firmly of the captivating view outside! Despite the use of contrasting materials like concrete wood and leather the overall color palette is muted and inconspicuous.
Get past the striking rammed earth walls at the entrance and you see a large and beautiful living space that feels even more airy thanks to the sixteen foot high ceiling. Kitchen and dining room sit on one side of this grand living area along with the study spaces while the master bedroom wing is place on the other side.
